In the Red River Lacrosse Association, we have our age groups broke up in 2-year groups

  • 8U
  • 10U
  • 12U
  • 14U
  • JV
  • Varsity

We also have 2 levels of commitment and competition,

  • Academy  (Cub club, Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced)
  • Travel

The details on the levels are also described in the information below.

A USA Lacrosse Membership Number is required for registration to meet association insurance policies. 

If you are already a member, the website will help you look up your number during the registration process.

Polars Cub Club

Polars Cub Club offers boys and girls the opportunity to play the game of lacrosse with no equipment investment. Practices for this group will be split between boys and girls. We will start as soon as we have the approval of the park districts to use the fields.

  • Boys will be an 8-Week program practicing 1 night a week for 45 min in the evenings.
  • Girls will be an 8-Week program practicing 1 night a week for 45 min in the evenings

In both groups, we will focus on the basics of lacrosse and having FUN. See the registration page for more details.   


  • Boys and Girls ages 7-14
  • 2 1 hr practices a week
  • Small groups of 10 or less
  • RRVLA provides balls and sticks
  • Can bring there own stick, and ware lacrosse gloves
  • No other equipment is needed
  • No USA Lacrosse membership is required.


  • Boys and Girls ages 8-17
  • 2 1 hr practices a week
  • Small groups of 12 or less
  • Full Lacrosse equipment is required (Hockey equipment is acceptable)
  • USA Lacrosse membership is required.


  • Boys and Girls ages 9-18
  • 3 1hr practices a week 
  • Small groups of 15 or less
  • Full Lacrosse equipment is required (Hockey equipment is NOT acceptable)
  • USA Lacrosse membership is required.
  • Specific position training is available at this level


All travel teams have been canceled for the 2020 Spring season due to COVID-19

Boys 10U 12U, 14U, JV, and Varsity, Will practice at Rendezvous field in West Fargo.  The schedule will vary by the group but will be between 5:00 and 9:00 Monday - Friday with the games on Weekends.

Travel practice will start April 1st in-doors at Veterans Area or Metro Rec and will move outdoors as soon as we get the all-clear for the park districts.

The JV and Varsity groups of the RRVLA will compete in the Northern Plains Lacrosse League (NPLL). The NPLL includes teams from North and South Dakota. Visit http://northernplainslacrosse.com/ for more information.

  • April 18th - 19th - Sioux Falls, SD
  • May 2nd - Watertown, SD
  • May 9th - 10th - Grand Forks, ND
  • May 16th - 17th -Fargo, ND
  • June 6th - Bismarck, ND

The Boys 10U, 12U, and 14U groups of the RRVLA will compete in the Great Northern Lacrosse League (GNLL). The GNLL includes teams for the Minneapolis Metro area. Visit https://www.homegrownlacrosse.org/gnllspring

There will be tryouts for travel teams at all levels if registration numbers are large enough to support two teams at any level.

Boys Travel Equipment: Travel players are not allowed to wear hockey helmets.  Review the Equipment page for more information: Lacrosse Equipment

Varsity, Will practice Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays from March 30 - June 18th  at Rendezvous field in West Fargo.

Tentative Travel dates are:

  • April 18th - West Des Moines, Iowa
  • May 2nd - Watertown, South Dakota
  • May 9th - Grand Forks, North Dakota
  • June 6th - Bismarck, North Dakota
  • June 20th 21st - Stillwater, Minnesota (Blue Ox)

Girls 14U, Will practice Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays beginning March 25 through May 31 from 6:00-7:30 PM at Bennett Elementary School fields in Fargo. All Thursday practices will be dedicated to scrimmaging Moorhead U14, RRVLA Varsity, or any local(ish) teams willing to travel to Fargo.
